Mr. MUTAVA GABRIEL MUTINDA

Gabriel Mutinda Mutava is a physicist specializing in computational physics, with research interests in semiconductors and optoelectronics. He holds a BSc and MSc in Physics from Chuka University and is currently a PhD student in Physics at Tharaka University. He serves as an Assistant Lecturer in the Physics Section, Department of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology, at Tharaka University. His research focuses on the computational modeling and optoelectronic properties of semiconductor materials, with several publications in this area.

Research Interests/Focus

  • Gabriel Mutinda Mutava’s research interests focus on computational and applied physics, with particular emphasis on the design, modeling, and analysis of semiconductor materials. His work centers on electronic band structure calculations, optical and optoelectronic properties of materials, and the application of computational methods to predict material performance. He is especially interested in optoelectronic devices, energy-related semiconductor applications, and clean and renewable energy technologies, including materials for photovoltaic and light-emitting systems. His research also extends to the use of advanced simulation techniques to support innovation in sustainable energy solutions.
Gabriel Mutinda Mutava holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Science in Physics from Chuka University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Physics at Tharaka University. He serves as an Assistant Lecturer in Physics at Tharaka University, where he is involved in teaching and research. In addition to his academic and research qualifications in computational physics, semiconductor physics, and optoelectronics, he has actively participated in several innovation and technology exhibitions, including clean energy innovations showcased at Safari Park and innovation forums at Sarit Centre, demonstrating his engagement in applied research, clean energy solutions, and technological advancement.
