Dr. Alex Mugwiria Muthengi

Dr. Muthengi's extensive expertise spans key areas including but not limited to Drug Discovery, medicinal chemistry, Green Chemistry, natural product chemistry, and Agriculture. Over the years, he has contributed significantly to advancing knowledge and practical solutions in these fields. During his Ph.D. studies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston (USA), he was involved in developing therapeutics for various types of cancers, through targeting bromodomains which are implicated in cancer development. The project was in collaboration with Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI). Additionally, during his Postdoctoral Fellowship at Northeastern University, Dr. Alex was involved in developing therapeutics targeting Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) through drug-repurposing. Additionally, he is currently working on a project with Farm Africa on Agroforestry in Eastern counties of Kenya. Therefore, he has relevant experience in handling agro-processing related projects.
